The VWDB’s VJC has partnered with Glendale Community College and Department of Rehabilitation to provide IT Level I training for interested clients. Disabilities Employment Accelerator funds assist individuals with disabilities with job placement, classroom and on the job training, work experience, career exploration assistance. Eligible clients enrolled in the program may qualify to receive free IT training through GCC. After the training there will be opportunities to be enrolled in either work experience or on the job training with local employers. There are also opportunities for other types of classroom training. To find out more about these opportunities, contact Tina Hartyon for more information.
The Work Incentives Planning and Assistance program will be hosting a Disability Resource Fair at the Verdugo Jobs Center in Glendale on October 26 to honor the National Disability Awareness Month. This resource fair at the Verdugo Jobs Center that will be focusing on providing numerous resources for the disabled population in our community and other surrounding cities. The Disability Employment Accelerator (DEA) program will also be assisting at the event.
